ENGLAND

For me, it's been a rarity to travel and have the chance to meet up with friends or family while on the road. It was even more amazing to get to stay at casa A&S in West Hampstead, London.

As always, these two were generous beyond mention with letting me bunk at their place and handed me a tube card for me to see Ol' Blighty for myself.

Thanks always A&S

London Calling

I was fortunate enough to have been met with family on my first trip to London. We got snazzed-up for a burlesque show downtown and enjoyed pints on our strolls along the Thames. Just awesome times.

It was a fantastic intro to London for sure. It was great because A&S made it so.

Salisbury

Day-tripped over to the town of Salisbury where we made a stop at its Cathedral; the mother church of the Diocese of Salisbury and is the seat of the Bishop of Salisbury. One of the finest examples of early English Gothic architecture, the main body of the church was completed in 1258 after 38 years of construction. The spire, built in 1320, at 404 feet (123 m), has been the tallest church spire in the United Kingdom since 1561.

Stonehenge

While it's an iconic looking structure that just about everyone can recognize, it was a bit unremarkable. With access to getting right up close & personal with the stones having been long ago restricted, maybe that's where it lost its power. Glad to have seen it in the flesh though.

London On-Foot

Knackered after a non-stop walking tour of the old capital. Highlights shown here are Abbey Road, Royal Albert Hall, then down to the Thames to see incredible Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, the Nelson monument, Big Ben and of course, Buckingham Palace.
